Suzlon Group has bagged its third successive order from AMPIN Energy Transition. The two companies are partnering once again to help decarbonise India’s electricity distribution sector by developing a 170.1 MW wind energy project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

As part of the latest contract, Suzlon will supply 54 advanced S144 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. These turbines will be mounted on Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT). Suzlon will take care of the entire project—from equipment supply and installation to commissioning and long-term operations and maintenance.

DISCOMs at the centre of India’s energy transition, says Suzlon CEO

Suzlon and AMPIN, by working together, are contributing to India’s low-carbon economy, with a focus on strengthening power distribution companies (DISCOMs).

Highlighting the critical role of DISCOMs, JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, said, “India’s decarbonization journey will be won or lost at the distribution level. DISCOMs are the critical link between renewable energy generation and everyday consumption—from industries to households. Together, we’re proving that clean energy isn’t just viable—it’s vital, scalable, and transformative for the power sector.”
