Hot water is an integral part of all businesses in the hospitality sector. Be it hotels, spas, salons, cafe’s , restaurants; none of the businesses in this sector would sustain without hot water. Hotels require hot water to provide bathing comfort to its customers, hotel laundromats require hot water to wash and clean laundry, hotel restaurants require hot water to cook food and clean vessels. Spas and Salons require hot water to perform services like washing hair, and other cosmetic services. Cafes and Restaurants require hot water for cooking and cleaning dishes. Hot water to this sector is vital for businesses to provide basic hygiene to ultimate comfort to their customers, without which they would not function.

Even though hot water in general is very important to all businesses in the hospitality sector, the hot water requirements for all businesses vary.Restaurants and Cafes require hot water at about 48 degrees celsius to clean vessels. They also need potable hot water between 70-90 degrees for the purposes of making tea and coffee. Laundromats require hot water at a minimum of 75 degrees celsius for their machines to work efficiently. Hotels need to provide hot water that is sufficient to provide the right quantum and temperature to all applications like bathing, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Considering all these different requirements, all businesses opt for various hot water systems like Heatpumps, Boilers, Tankless Water Heaters, Gas Water Heaters, etc. However with technological advancements in modern hot water systems, the hospitality sector can efficiently manage and control this essential resource. Many modern water heating systems come with temperature control. This enables businesses in the hospitality sector to set the right temperature for varied applications, in turn maximising the efficiency and comfort.

Some water heating systems come with wifi functions, and also have the ability to be linked with building management systems. This is extremely beneficial to hoteliers as the availability of this technology enables them to regulate and control all water heating systems from a single room, thereby reducing manpower wastage, and increasing efficiency.

Water heating systems like Electronic Tankless Water Heaters are built smart with temperature and power control. This is beneficial to all businesses as these smart water heaters only consume the actual power required to heat water at the desired temperature, thereby eliminating any wastage of power, and maximising efficiency.

Modern Gas tankless water heaters have the capabilities of reaching temperatures of upto 85 degrees celsius which can be controlled. This is extremely beneficial to laundromats while washing and cleaning clothes. And with temperature control also available, the hot water system can be controlled efficiently.

Heat Pumps use renewable energy of heating the water by extracting heat from the atmosphere and transferring it to stored water, thereby heating up the water. This process is akin to reverse refrigeration. In order to have reliable production of hot water it becomes essential to supplement the heat pump with multiple energy resources like gas, and electricity. Smart controls are required to automatically manage these multiple energy sources  to get maximum energy efficiency with maximum comfort. The ability to control multiple energy sources for hot water production can give businesses in the hospitality sector an all around edge in the market.

Such smart technologies play a vital role in monitoring and controlling hot water systems in the hospitality sector. Such smart technologies enable an entity in this sector to have an edge in the market, provide utmost comfort and hygiene, and be sustainable as well.
