NCC has received a contract valued at Rs 6,828.94 crore from Central Coalfields (CCL) for a major mining project in Jharkhand. This marks the company’s one of the biggest order wins in recent quarters.
The contract, covers the extraction and transportation of overburden (OB) and coal at the Amrapali open cast project (OCP) in the Chandragupt Area of Jharkhand.
NCC said in its regulatory filing, “The Company has received a Letter of Acceptance dated 24th October 2025 from Central Coalfields Limited for Extraction and Transportation of Overburden (OB) & Coal at Amrapali OCP, Chandragupt Area in Jharkhand State.”
Project scope covers extraction and transportation of coal
The scope of work involves hiring heavy earth-moving machinery (HEMM) for removing 413.59 million cubic metres of OB, extracting 233.325 million tonnes of coal, and transporting the mined coal to Shivpur siding and surface stock yard under various lead slabs. The project also includes wagon loading of 139.995 million tonnes of coal at the siding.
Work to be completed over seven years
The contract will be executed over a total period of 2,915 days, including a 360-day development phase and a seven-year production period.
CCL, a domestic public sector entity, awarded the order under the general conditions of contract. NCC clarified that the project does not involve any related-party transactions, and none of the promoter or group companies have any interest in CCL.

The share price of NCC (Nagarjuna Construction Company) has declined 24.56% so far this year.
