Life Insurance Corporation and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance have announced that they will relax their process to expedite claim settlement for the Air India plane crash victims. 

The two life insurance companies said that they are committed to supporting those affected by the unfortunate plane crash in Ahmedabad. The companies said that they understand the challenges faced by the family of those who lost their lives in the plane crash, and they committed to supporting them in the hours of hardship. 

LIC relaxes document requirements 

Life Insurance Corporation said that it has announced a concession in providing a death certificate for the claim. If the death certificate is not available, the company will accept any evidence in the government’s records that the policyholder lost his/her life in the plane crash. 

The company said that if the family of the policyholder produces any documents of receiving compensation from the government, it will also be accepted as proof of death.

LIC said that it is taking all necessary efforts to reach out to the claimants and settle the claim process in the most expedited way possible. The company said that the claimants can reach out to their nearest LIC branch or contact the company at the helpline number 022-68276827.

Bajaj Allianz forms special desk

Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance has said that it has formed a dedicated special claim settlement desk to prioritize the claim settlement process for those who are affected by the tragic plane crash. 

Furthermore, the company said that it has also relaxed its documentation norms to speed up the claim settlement process. If the death certificate is not available, a certificate issued by the municipal authority or hospital will also be accepted to initiate the claim process, along with the nominee KYC and bank mandate.
