IndusInd Bank has appointed Viral Damania as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with immediate effect. 

As a result of this, Santosh Kumar’s responsibilities as Special Officer-Finance & Accounts after Arun Khurana was relieved will cease with immediate effect. However, Kumar will continue in his role as Deputy CFO of the bank. 

Who is Viral Damania

Damania is a seasoned finance professional with over 27 years of professional experience across banking and professional services. Earlier, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Bank of America India, where he oversaw the bank branch entity and BofA Securities India. 

Damania also served as a member of the Bank’s country leadership team and was a non-executive director on the board of BofA Securities India. 

Before joining Bank of America, Damania worked with Citibank in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC).

Damania is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Cost & Works Accountant. He holds an ISACA certification in Information Systems Audit and Control.

IndusInd Bank: Leadership changes

IndusInd Bank has been in the midst of a series of leadership changes. Rajiv Anand took over as the chief executive officer earlier in August. This is after the Bank’s former CEO, Sumant Kathpalia, and earlier CFO Arun Khurana stepped down after the Rs 1,960 crore accounting discrepancy was reported in Q4 FY25.
