Zee Media names its English news channel WION
Zee Media Corporation’s global English news channel, to be launched this summer, will be called WION. Speaking on this, Dr Subhash Chandra, chairman, Essel Group and ZEE, said, “WION stands for ‘World is One News’ and will give a global view of the world with a South Asian lens.” The channel will be a mobile/digital first platform and will later become an international TV channel. For this, WION’s teams will be equipped with mobile technology for an ‘anytime-anywhere’ live approach.
Rahul Guha joins as president of TrackDDB
DDB Mudra Group has recently appointed Rahul Guha as president — TrackDDB. Guha was earlier with Wunderman International for over five years as its India head and before joining Wunderman, he led interactive business across WPP, Interpublic Group and Havas Group.
Nielsen buys Informate Mobile Intelligence
Nielsen has acquired Mumbai-based mobile usage measurer Informate Mobile Intelligence. The acquisition will help Nielsen enhance its measurement portfolio in the mobile space. It will also enable Nielsen’s Total Audience measurement strategy in both developing and international markets.
