The country’s largest consumer goods company, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on Wednesday announced key changes to its management committee (MC). This comes within two months of the company splitting the beauty and personal care business to mirror the structure of parent Unilever as well as taking on new-age brands.
Shiva Krishnamurthy, 49, will join the HUL management committee as executive director, foods and refreshment while Srinandan Sundaram, currently executive director, foods and refreshment will replace Deepak Subramanian as executive director, homecare at HUL. The changes are effective April 1, 2024.
Kartik Chandrasekhar, who was to join the HUL MC as executive director, personal care from April 1, has decided to move on from the company. The appointment of executive director, personal care at HUL would be announced in due course, the company said. In the interim, Madhusudhan Rao, currently executive director, beauty and personal care, would continue to oversee the business, it added.
“Shiva has a strong business acumen. And I am glad to welcome him to the HUL leadership team. Srinandan has been a part of the HUL Leadership for over seven years and has a strong track record in general management, customer development and marketing,” Rohit Jawa, CEO and MD, HUL, said.
Krishnamurthy, currently vice president, foods and beverages, South Asia, joined HUL in 2000 and has built strong expertise in marketing in a career spanning more than two decades, the company said. Under his leadership, HUL became the market leader in tea by localising the product mix and building a strong innovation pipeline.
Srinandan, meanwhile, has established the foundation for strong growth in the foods business as well as of fully integrating the health food drinks business into HUL, the company said. Srinandan has also led the acceleration of HUL’s agenda on regenerative agriculture and nutritional value in products, it added.
