The High Court has granted an interim stay on the demolition of  Telugu superstar Nagarjuna’s N-Convention center after Hyderabad’s Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) initiated the demolition of the property owned by the actor, reported The Indian Express.

The building was allegedly constructed on the Full Tank Level (FTL) zone and buffer area of Thimmidkunta lake, raising concerns over potential violations of environmental regulations. In response, Nagarjuna took to social media to defend his actions and clear his name amidst the unfolding controversy.

Earlier, Nagarjuna expressed his distress over the situation, stating, “I am pained by the unlawful manner in which the demolition was carried out, despite existing stay orders and ongoing court cases. I felt compelled to issue this statement to set the record straight and protect my reputation, asserting that we have not violated any laws.”

The N-Convention property came under scrutiny following frequent flooding in nearby areas. However, Nagarjuna maintained that “the land is Patta land, and not a single inch of the tank plan has been encroached upon. There is a stay order in place against any previous notices for demolition.”

He further argued that HYDRA’s actions were based on misinformation and that no prior notice had been issued before the demolition began. “As a law-abiding citizen, I would have complied with the court’s decision if it had ruled against me,” he added.

Nagarjuna reiterated his stance, stating, “I am sharing this information to correct any public misperceptions regarding alleged wrongful constructions or encroachment on our part. We will seek appropriate relief from the court concerning the authorities’ actions.”

Justice T. Vinod Kumar of the Telangana High Court, who presided over the hearing, issued a temporary stay on the demolition, halting further action against the N-Convention center. Nagarjuna’s legal team confirmed the High Court’s decision, noting, “The court has issued an interim order to stop the demolition of structures owned by Nagarjuna, N-Convention. The actor approached the court for a stay order and was granted relief.”
