CG Power and Industrial Solutions has bagged a major order worth Rs 641 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid). The order is for supplying transformer packages, making it the company’s largest single order to date.

The supply of goods under this contract will be completed over a span of 18 to 36 months. The order includes both goods and services, with the total contract value pegged at Rs 641 crore ($ 74 million).

The order involves the supply of 765kV Transformer Package 7TR-12-Bulk. It is part of Powergrid’s corporate procurement plan for 765kV and 400kV class transformers and reactors. The scope of work includes 765/400kV single-phase transformers under Lot-4 of the revised procurement methodology.

CG Power shares rise after the announcement

Following the announcement, share price of CG Power surged nearly 4 per cent, hitting a high of Rs 788.70 on the BSE during morning trade on Tuesday.

CG Power, now part of the Murugappa Group, reported consolidated revenues of ₹9,909 crore in FY25 and continues to expand across industrial and power systems, as well as consumer appliances.

On the other hand, Powergrid’s share price has seen a significant decline over the year, falling by 13 per cent.
