State-owned Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL) announced that it has received an order from Adani Power Ltd to set up a 2×800 MW thermal power plant (TPP) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The order is worth more than Rs 3,500 crore.
The contract agreement is signed for supply of equipment (boiler, turbine, generator) and supervision of erection and commissioning for a 2×800 MW power project based on Supercritical Technology at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, the company said in a regulatory filing. Boiler and turbine generator are to be manufactured at BHEL’s Trichy and Haridwar plants respectively.
The time frame for the execution of the order stipulates the supply of unit-1 within 35 months and unit-2 within 41 months.
Earlier last month, BHEL had posted its fiscal fourth quarter profit at Rs 489.62 crore, down 25.6 per cent on-year in comparison to Rs 658.02 crore during the corresponding quarter of FY23. It recorded revenue from operations at Rs 8260.25 crore, marginally above the Rs 8226.99 crore recorded during the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year. The company EBITDA stood at Rs 727.9 crore, down 30.6 per cent on-year.
