The salary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) top brass has come into light after the company announced plans to lay off over 12,000 employees from its global workforce. The move has sparked widespread debate on the necessity of the layoffs, particularly as the company is also expected to freeze salary hikes for remaining employees.
CEO K Krithivasan Earned Over Rs 26 Crore in FY25
According to the annual report of India’s largest IT services company, TCS CEO K Krithivasan’s salary saw an increase of over 4 percent in FY25. He earned Rs 26.52 crore, which included a base salary of Rs 1.39 crore, Rs 2.12 crore in benefits, perquisites, allowances, and Rs 23 crore in commission.
TCS’ decision to lay off 12,000 employees is part of its larger strategy to become a “future-ready organisation,” with a focus on technology investments, AI deployment, market expansion, and workforce realignment.
Other Top Executives’ Salaries Revealed
Former Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of TCS, NG Subramaniam, earned Rs 11.55 crore until May 2024, after which he stepped down from the role. His package included a base salary of Rs 30 lakh, Rs 7.24 crore in benefits, perquisites, and allowances, and Rs 4 crore in commission.
TCS Chairman N Chandrasekaran, meanwhile, received a sitting fee of Rs 2.1 lakh and no commission. Non-executive directors Hanne Sorensen and Pradeep Kumar Khosla each received Rs 2.74 crore, while Keki Mistry, another non-executive director, earned a total remuneration of Rs 3.06 crore, comprising Rs 3 crore in commission and Rs 5.7 lakh in sitting fees.
