Apollo Hospital Enterprise Ltd. on Wednesday a 59% year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at ₹395.7 crore for the second quarter that ended on September 30, 2024. According to the hospital’s statement, Apollo Hospitals posted a net profit of ₹249 crore in the corresponding quarter of the fiscal year.
The company’s revenue from operations increased 15.3% to ₹5,589.3 crore as against ₹4,847 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.
Meanwhile, EBITDA surged 30% to ₹815.5 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal over ₹627 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. According to the company’s statement, Apollo’s EBITDA margin stood at 14.6% in the reporting quarter as compared to 13% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.
The company’s (HCS) segment achieved revenue of ₹2,903 crore, showing a 14% year-over-year (YoY) growth, and an EBITDA of ₹722 crore, also up 14% year-over-year, with margins at 24.87%. The HCS segment posted a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹364 crore, a 16% increase from Q2 FY24.
Meanwhile, Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd (AHLL) recorded revenue of ₹404 crore, marking a 14% year-over-year increase, while EBITDA rose by 30% to ₹41 crore, with margins at 10.26%. AHLL reported a reduced PAT loss of ₹46 crore, compared to a ₹130 crore loss in Q2 FY24.
Apollo HealthCo reported that it achieved revenue of ₹2,282 crore, up 17% year-over-year. The segment also posted a positive EBITDA of ₹52 crore compared to a loss in the previous year, with an EBITDA margin of 2.28%.
PAT for Apollo HealthCo improved to ₹190 crore, a significant turnaround from the ₹678 crore loss in Q2 FY24. The gross merchandise value (GMV) of its digital health platform, Apollo 24/7, reached ₹757 crore.
Apollo Hospitals announced a strategic expansion to bolster its footprint in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The group entered into an agreement to build and operate a 500-bed hospital in Worli, Mumbai, and plans to expand its Lucknow facility by adding 200 beds, bringing its capacity to 500 beds.
With these projects, Apollo Hospitals aims to add over 3,512 beds (2,877 census beds) across 11 locations over the next four years, it stated.
