Tsuyo in India has signed a deep cooperation agreement with Suzhou LvKON Transmission in China on providing technology and design along with high-power solutions for various for the Indian BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and HEVs (hybrid electric vehicles) market.
The agreement signed on September 20, 23 at LvKON headquarters in Suzhou, China, highlighted the collaboration and support on multiple projects across all mature and evolving platforms widely used in China and other countries.
As part of this collaboration, Tsuyo LVKON plans to launch product solutions such as Direct Drive Motor (DM), Transmission Electric Drive (TED), Integrated Starting and Generating Motor (IM), Continuous Electric Drive (CED), and Super Transmission Bridge (STEA) in 2024. BEV and Parallel Hybrid Drive (PHD), Multi-Mode Hybrid Drive (MHD), and Continuous Hybrid Drive (CHD) on the HEV side.

LvKON hybrid products have maintained a market share of over 35% in the commercial vehicle market with annual sales of pure electric products exceeding 25,000 units. Customers of LvKON include leading OEMs who are renowned for their diverse applications, including more than 40 bus companies such as Zhongtong Bus, Beiqi Futian, Xiamen Jinlong, Xiamen Jinlv, Suzhou Jinlong, and Shenlong Bus.
Apart from the bus manufacturers customers also include more than 20 truck companies such as China FAW, Dongfeng Motor, China Heavy Duty Truck, Shaanxi Automobile, Jianghuai Automobile, Liuqi, Dayun, XCMG, such as Sany Heavy Industry, XCMG, Heavy Duty Truck, Futian, Jianghuai, Isuzu, and Changqi Truck.
When it comes to heavy-duty mining dump trucks and off-road vehicles, LvKON currently maintains a market share of over 55% with over 1,20,000 new energy vehicles in 18 foreign countries and over 300 domestic cities, with a cumulative operating mileage of over 12 billion kilometres. LvKON focuses on the research and development, production, and sales of AMT, new energy vehicle drive motors, pure electric, and hybrid powertrain systems.
LvKON will also play an important role in creating a production line for heavy-duty motors and gearboxes that meet Tsuyo’s requirements, to meet the changing dynamics of demands from local customers by providing made-to-order and manufacturing solutions to our end customers in India.
Today, LvKON has achieved complete independent design and production capabilities for key components such as motors and gearboxes. Whereas, Suzhou LvKON Transmission Technology is committed to becoming a leading supplier of drive products, power system solutions provider, and services in the new energy vehicle industry.
Tsuyo has secured the 2nd highest seed investment globally in the Electric Motor space for $12.0 million from the Indian Automotive Tier-I company, RKFL. Tsuyo has recently added new product lines to its company’s product basket, such as motor solutions for electric forklifts and small excavators, the first Indian PMSM motor for commercial cargo transport vehicles (such as TATA ACE electric conversion), and PMSM solutions for tractors in S1 and S2 duty cycles with the best performance turnaround.
RKFL will soon support the launch of Tsuyo’s larger third manufacturing plant for N1 customers. The first phase has a production capacity of approximately 5000 units per year, and in the future, it will expand to 30000 units to meet the SOP of existing OEM manufacturers in the N1 category within 3 years.
