Steelbird Helmets plots Rs 250 crore new plant in Tamil Nadu, to launch 70 new helmets in 2024

Steelbird Hi-Tech India, one of the world’s largest helmet manufacturer has announced its ambitious plans to expand its manufacturing footprint and product offerings as it commemorates 60th anniversary.

The company has announced plans to invest Rs 250 crore in Hosur, Tamil Nadu towards setting up a new manufacturing facility to meet OEM and aftermarket demand. This will be in addition to expanding its manufacturing output by 50,000 unit per day at its existing facility in Baddi.

Furthermore, the company aims to launch 70 new helmets in 2024 to further its reach in the Indian and global market.

As part of its 60th anniversary, Steelbird has launched SBA-17 RDX open-face helmet, which features a durable thermoplastic shell, replaceable cheek pads, high-density EPS for impact protection, and a scratch-resistant polycarbonate visor with an integrated Inner Sun Shield. The first 100,000 purchasers will receive a complimentary smoke visor.

Furthermore, Steelbird is aggressively growing its Riderz Shoppe network with a goal of adding 800 more stores by the end-2025. These specialised outlets offer a comprehensive selection of helmets, riding apparel, and accessories, delivering a personalised shopping experience for the biking community and actively promoting the use of ISI-certified helmets.

In 2023, the company claims it sold over 80 lakh helmets globally, clocking revenue of Rs 687 crore.
