Pure EV partners Pragmatic Design Solutions for solid-state battery tech platform for e2W, plan $50 million investment too

The partners aim to develop a high-speed premium electric two-wheeler which will use solid-state battery.

Pure EV, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer in the country has announced forming a joint venture with Pragmatic Design Solutions (PDSL), UK to cater to the evolving needs of consumers across domestic and international markets.

As per the understanding, the partners have set a roadmap to develop a high-performance electric two-wheeler on solid state battery technology platform, targeting both Indian and International markets. The JV will be set-up at the Coventry University Technology Park, UK, which is a leading global automotive hub including for EV technology. The partnership will see investments upto the tune of $50 million (Rs 416 crore).

The JV aims to develop a new product that can seamlessly integrate advanced technology with sustainable design principles, with mileage of 250km, top speed of over 100kmph, AI-based powertrain platform offering user friendly troubleshooting and fast on-board charger.

This strategic alliance brings together Pure EV’s expertise in battery and electric vehicle design with PDSL’s distinguished engineering services by on-boarding the global supply chain to the distribution network. The product will be equipped with new-age battery technology, a dynamic powertrain and advanced software features. The development of the product has begun, and the launch will be planned during early 2025. 

The EV maker says PDSL (Pragmatic Design Solutions) has been delivering leading-edge engineering and digital technology solutions since 2010, for clientele like OEMs Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volkswagen, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Rivian, VInFast, Polestar, Volta Trucks, Panasonic and LG among others.
