Volkswagen's car prices in India start at ₹11.56 lakh for the base model, Virtus, and go up to ₹35.17 lakh for the top model, Tiguan. The company offers three models in India, including two SUVs and one sedan. Two models– Taigun and Virtus are fully-developed and locally manufactured in India whereas Taigun is a locally assembled model. The German automaker entered the Indian market in 2007. Its operations are managed by Volkswagen Group India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Volkswagen has two potential launches in India in the coming future, both SUVS. The first is the all-electric ID.4 and the second is a sub-4 metre SUV named Tera. Volkswagen will enter the EV segment and the subcompact SUV space with the ID.4 and Tera, respectively.
