THORSwap, a decentralised exchange (DEX), powered by multichain THORChain, created a maintenance mode to prevent bad actors from moving illicit funds through the platform, stated Cointelegraph.

With insights from the original announcement, on October 6, 2023, THORSwap transitioned into “maintenance mode.” This is expected to be an immediate measure to counter the potential movement of illicit funds. The decision is believed to come after consultation with advisors, legal counsel, and law enforcement, among others.

“THORSwap will remain in this (maintenance) mode until a more permanent and robust solution can be implemented to ensure the platform’s continued security and integrity,” Cointelegraph added.

Furthermore, the company shared no detailed information on the ongoing investigations and remediation plans, Cointelegraph concluded.
