Scientists to support ‘quantum advantage’, says experts

Quantum computing promises to solve problems binary computers can’t, but new research from a team in New York shows the old school isn’t ready for retirement just yet.

Sources revealed that in June 2023, a team of researchers at IBM mentioned that a quantum system could outperform a binary computer at a given task. It is beloved that this was termed as “quantum utility,” during its creation.

“Here we show that we can perform a classical simulation that is significantly more accurate and precise than the results obtained from the quantum processor and many other classical methods,” as per insights from research papers.

It is believed that “quantum advantage,” which is used to describe quantum computing systems capable of performing useful tasks faster and more accurately than binary systems, has become a moving target, concluded Cointelegraph.
