Nigeria’s federal government, through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has collaborated with the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a computing education charity. The partnership will enable the unveiling of Code Clubs all over Nigeria, as stated by Cointelegraph.

According to Cointelegraph, the program is meant for 7-17 aged students and related prospects. From what it’s understood, the Code Clubs depict a set of extracurricular artificial intelligence (AI) programming clubs, towards digital literacy and Nigerian young minds for innovation. On November 8, 2023, the ministry stated that the Code Clubs will provide coding and digital technology knowledge to its members.

Based on Cointelegraph’s data, these clubs will have its roots in 17 knowledge exchange centers, and will later boost its presence across six Nigerian geopolitical areas. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s minister of communications, innovation and digital economy, has highlighted the need for a Nigerian knowledge base using coding clubs. It’s believed that the collaboration will permit Raspberry Pi Foundation to provide young candidates and educators with directives, toolkits and additional assistance. In that respect, the ministry will supervise the working of Code Clubs throughout the nation using a partnership format.

Moreover, Cointelegraph noted that the partners will be provided with resources, along with operational and support advice by a particular central entity. Sources suggest that the ministry spoke on the educational channels for Code Club members, which will comprise coding and technology-related topics, spanning robotics and electronics, game development, algorithms and problem-solving, introduction to coding, basic concepts, web development, programming languages, and project-based learning.
