MicroStrategy, a business intelligence firm’s twitter, has been hacked, stated Cointelegraph. The hack is expected to take place after malicious links were posted for a fake airdrop of an ‘official’ Ethereum-based MSTR token.
With insights from ZachXBT, an independent blockchain sleuth, and Scam Sniffer, an anti-scam platform, the losses incurred from the scam amounted to over $440,000.
Sources revealed that some unknown victim signed for a transaction. It is believed that a total of $134,000 worth of wBAI, $122,000 worth of CHEX and $45,000 worth of wPOKT was transferred to the attacker’s wallet address, added Cointelegraph.
Furthermore, “Obviously trying not to be victim blaming here but you gotta be very special to think MicroStrategy is launching an ETH token after Saylor has spent multiple years very famously saying ‘there is no second best’ and ‘you only use one chair’ etc,” concluded Cointelegraph.
