As more of our lives and businesses move online, having safe and secure digital spaces is becoming essential for companies, governments and individuals. Experts in the industry believe that the demand for skilled professionals in cybersecurity and networking is higher than ever. A Mumbai-based organisation called Connecting Cyber Networks claims to be playing a key role in building a trusted environment for both learning and delivering cybersecurity services.

A 2024 Global Cybersecurity Workforce Study found demand for cybersecurity professionals has grown by over 30% annually, but the talent supply is not keeping pace, especially in emerging economies like India. Unlike many traditional firms that only offer security services, Connecting Cyber Networks claims to use a hybrid model combining practical learning with real consulting projects. They are said to have trained more than 1,500 students in critical IT areas like Cybersecurity, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, Bug Bounty Hunting and Network Infrastructure.

Instead of focusing just on theory, students actively practice in specially designed labs and simulate real hacking and defence scenarios. This method prepares them well for tackling actual cybersecurity problems in their future careers,” Ashish Kumar Saini, Founder, Connecting Cyber Networks, said.

Research highlights that hands-on training and real-world simulations greatly improve the ability of students to respond to actual cyberattacks compared to purely theoretical education.

Helping businesses stay secure

Beyond training, Connecting Cyber Networks helps organisations improve their security measures. They provide services such as firewall optimisation, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to ensure companies’ defences are strong. Their expertise is trusted by many enterprises, contributing to building strong digital safety frameworks that protect critical business systems against increasing cyber threats.

Addressing the cybersecurity talent shortage in India

Saini opines that India faces a large skills gap in cybersecurity, with far fewer trained professionals than needed to fill the growing number of roles. Connecting Cyber Networks tackles this by offering globally recognised certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSA/SE, PCNSA/SE, CEH, ECSA, CPENT and OSCP.

“Students learn from experienced mentors and use devices from top cybersecurity companies such as Cisco, Checkpoint, and Palo Alto Networks, along with programming languages like Python and C++. This approach opens up clear career opportunities both in India and internationally,” Saini concluded.
