According to Cointelegraph, Artificial intelligence (AI) has gained attention in Hollywood throughout 2023. It is believed that many celebrities have come forth denouncing the use of the likeness in AI deep fakes.
Sources revealed that faces such as Tom Hanks, actor, MrBeast, YouTuber and Gayle King, an American broadcast journalist, have all recently tried to put an end to deep fakes of themselves, Cointelegraph added.
Hanks is believed to be the first of the three to identify the AI deep fake of himself. Supposedly, he posted a screenshot of the video on his Instagram page on October 1, 2023, saying “beware” and that he had nothing to do with it.
It is believed that no official legislation has been created or implemented regarding AI deep fakes in the United States. Furthermore, lawmakers are planning to regulate political deep fakes in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, Cointelegraph concluded.
