With insights from a report by Bloomberg, representatives in the European Union are negotiating a plan for additional regulations on the largest artificial intelligence (AI) systems, stated Cointelegraph.
The European Commission, the European Parliament and the various EU member states are expected to be in discussions regarding the potential effects of large language models (LLMs). It is believed that they also included Meta’s Llama 2 and OpenAI’s GPT-4, and added restrictions to be imposed on them as a part of the forthcoming AI Act, Cointelegraph added.
Sources revealed that the aim is not to overburden new startups with too many regulations while keeping larger models in check.
However, the legislation is yet to be executed. Furthermore, the members are expected to still have the ability to disagree with any of the proposals set forth by Parliament, Cointelegraph concluded.
