Anthropic, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup, and Amazon have announced their latest investment deal. The deal intends to bolster research and development of new foundation prototypes, as stated by Cointelegraph.
According to Cointelegraph, Anthropic has unveiled that Amazon will make a four billion dollar worth investment towards its functionality. From what it’s understood, Anthropic will be able to avail Amazon Web Services Trainium and Inferentia chips.
Based on Cointelegraph’s data, Anthropic spoke on providing “enhanced support” to Amazon Bedrock, with “secure model customisation and fine-tuning” for corporations. Reportedly, Amazon’s units will be also able to utilise Bedrock on account of Anthropic’s models. It’s believed that Amazon will be having a “minority stake” in Anthropic. “As outlined in this policy, we will conduct pre-deployment tests of new models to help us manage the risks of increasingly capable AI systems,” Anthropic mentioned.
Moreover, Cointelegraph’s data noted that in August, 2023, Anthropic specified about a $100 million worth investment from SK Telecom, a South Korean telecommunications company. Sources suggest that the investment also resulted in a partnership between Anthropic and SK Telecom for creation of a multilingual large language model (LLM) to back the latter’s Telco AI Platform.
