In a forward-looking initiative, the Indian Army hosted Shaurya Sampravah 1.0, a formal interaction with senior veteran officers, at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi.

Spearheaded by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), the event marks a significant step in leveraging the rich experience and insights of the veteran community to shape the future of the Indian Army and contribute to national growth.

General Dwivedi expressed profound gratitude to the veterans for their continued service, both in uniform and beyond. He emphasised that the interaction is more than a meeting; it is a platform for the convergence of ideas between the Army’s current leadership and its veteran community.

The aim is to integrate their invaluable wisdom into the Army’s transformation initiatives and encourage their involvement in nation-building efforts aligned with the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan stressed the importance of involving veterans in the Army’s planning and strategy. He noted that their experience is an invaluable asset that can boost the Indian Armed Forces’ effectiveness in achieving long-term goals. The event included informal discussions between veterans and senior leaders, promoting a sense of camaraderie and shared commitment to national service.

The highlight of the event was a comprehensive briefing on the “Decade of Transformation” plan. This roadmap sets out the Army’s vision for modernisation, technological innovation, and improved operational capabilities over the next decade. The aim is to prepare the Army to face both traditional and new security challenges effectively.
