The Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024 is around the corner, state owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is gearing up for its participation in the 10th edition, taking place from January 9 -13 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

With a focus on ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ HAL aims to assess the capabilities of Indian industries during this event, as stated by CB Ananthakrishnan, CMD (Addl. Charge), HAL.

A highlight at the HAL stall will be the Su-30 MKI aircraft, which has been domestically modified to integrate the air-to-ground BrahMos missile, a 2500 kg missile with a range of nearly 300 kms. Having manufactured 220 Su-30 MKI aircraft and overhauled more than 100 Su-30 MKI units, HAL showcases its prowess in aerospace.

On static display will be HAL’s Prachand Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), a Make-in-India product developed with private participation. The LCH stands out globally as the only attack helicopter capable of landing and taking off at an altitude of 5000 m (16,400 ft) with a significant load of weapons and fuel, meeting the specific requirements of the Indian Armed Forces.

According to an official statement, HAL’s commitment to indigenisation is evident, with over 100 critical items identified for this purpose, some of which will be showcased at the event. The HAL stall will also feature scale models of Su-30, LCA, ALH WSI, HTT40, and Do-228, along with an emphasis on core competencies and capabilities of Indian industries.

Opportunities in indigenising critical aerospace parts, aggregates, LRUs, materials, and consumables will be highlighted. The event will provide a platform for HAL to interact with the Indian industry, fostering strategies for strengthening the aerospace ecosystem and opening gateways for the future.

Six manufacturing divisions of HAL, including Aircraft Division Nashik, Engine Division Koraput, Accessories Division Hyderabad and Lucknow, Transport Aircraft Division Kanpur, and Engine Division Bengaluru, are actively participating in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show, showcasing the diverse expertise and contributions of HAL to the aerospace sector.
