In a significant development, Security Forces in Nagaland have made a noteworthy breakthrough with the recovery of a substantial arsenal of weapons. Among the seized items were eleven 82 mm Mortars, four RCL Tubes, ten Pistols, and an impressive haul of 199 Radio Sets and Satellite Phones.
According to sources in the defence and security establishment, “The operation, aptly named Cloudburst, underscores the meticulous efforts of the Security Forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.”
“This seizure undoubtedly deals a blow to unlawful activities and reinforces the commitment to ensuring the safety of the populace. As investigations unfold, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the origins and intended use of these weapons,” sources quoted above added.
This is not the first time that a huge cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered. Earlier this year in February, a combined team of Assam Rifles and representatives of Nagaland Police had carried out a joint operation in the general area of Shingphan Forest Area of Nagaland and during the operation had seized a huge cache.
The successful operation serves as a testament to the dedication and vigilance of the Security Forces in safeguarding against potential threats to stability in Nagaland.
