Agenda in India

One of the highlights of the visit is the planned meetings with industry leaders in India’s technology and infrastructure sectors. From engaging discussions with Reliance in Mumbai on 5G technology to exploring Ashok Leyland’s advancements in Chennai, Bukele and his delegation are poised to gain valuable insights that could shape the future of El Salvador’s infrastructure landscape.

Furthermore, the visit includes interactions with key players in India’s pharmaceutical sector, highlighting the potential for collaboration in healthcare and pharmaceutical research between the two nations.

The delegation’s visit to Delhi Metro in New Delhi and a cable car company in Shimla exemplifies India’s expertise in sustainable transportation solutions.

Financial Express Online in March had reported that a delegation from the Central American nation is expected to visit India in April.

A group from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) visited the Central American nation to discuss a big metro project. They teamed up with Obras PublicaSV to make transportation better, especially with a new 22 km metro line in San Salvador, the capital. They talked about the project and plan to sign a deal during this visit to finish the project in 3-4 years.

This partnership got a boost with an agreement between Lakshmi Capital and El Salvador’s Ministry of Public Works and Transportation. During the visit in March, DMRC met with Ibrahim Bukele, to share ideas about the metro project. They also checked the project sites and studied the technical stuff needed for planning and doing the project.

DMRC also signed an agreement with Lakshmi Capital to share more information and work together better and shared their plan and survey with El Salvador’s government to show how they will do the project.

Ambassador Dr Manoj Kumar Mohapatra played an important role in bringing DMRC, Lakshmi Capital, and El Salvador’s government together.

The visit of Ibrahim Bukele and his delegation underscores the growing synergy between India and El Salvador in the realms of infrastructure and technology. Through exchange of knowledge and expertise, both nations stand poised to chart a path towards a brighter and more interconnected future.
