At the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Annual Training Conference, Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen, DG, CRPF, in New Delhi emphasized the pivotal role of training in preparing as an operationally focused force. He urged senior officers and training institutions to reconsider the training approach and content in light of generational changes, scientific advancements, and operational needs.

The conference gathered senior CRPF officers and heads of Training Institutions to discuss various training aspects. This included the necessity of aligning training with operational requirements, the continuous enhancement of training methods through field insights, honing troops’ skills to enhance their operational capability, and utilizing cutting-edge technology for effective learning.

During the conference, DG CRPF introduced a document on “Training Policy” and an updated “Handbook of Ceremonies.” The Training Policy aims to standardize the approach and processes, while the Handbook on Ceremonies provides guidelines for maintaining procedural consistency during various force-level events.

He highlighted the significance of a learner-centric, inclusive training approach within the force. As part of this commitment, he launched the “SAATHI” Android-based app, designed in-house to provide training to CRPF personnel “Anywhere, Anytime” with a simple click. This innovative app empowers trainees, reduces training costs, and shortens course durations. DG CRPF acknowledged the dedicated team that contributed to the SAATHI mobile app’s development. He also unveiled the logo for the CRPF Training sector.

The conference involved extensive discussions among senior officers, covering key training aspects like implementing the CRPF training network, exploring the integration of artificial intelligence and information technology for SMART training, and aligning the training curriculum with operational challenges across diverse theaters and dimensions of internal security.

DG CRPF emphasized the need to create an enabling training environment in training institutions, adopting a humane and inclusive approach. He also stressed the importance of identifying and nurturing talent while developing a group of recognized master trainers.

In his closing remarks, DG CRPF reiterated the collective responsibility to ensure that CRPF’s troops receive the best possible instructional infrastructure and training inputs, ensuring their operational preparedness to address dynamic internal security challenges.
