ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE) has announced strategic changes in its broadcast business’ revenue vertical which were implemented by its MD & CEO Punit Goenka, and are effective immediately. Under these changes, Chief  Growth  Officer,  Advertisement  Revenue Ashish Sehgal will directly report to the MD & CEO. 

A statement from the firm said that this move aligns with the strategic approach that Goenka has undertaken and that the announcement is the first step in the direction of streamlining the organisation which will allow for optimisation of resource  allocation and enhanced productivity.  

Rahul Johri’s resignation

The firm has accepted the resignation of Rahul Johri who led the revenue and monetisation vertical at ZEE for over three years. Talking about Johri’s exit, Goenka applauded his “rich expertise and experience”, adding that he brought immense value. “I  am  most  certain  that  with  his  passion  towards  the  Sports and  Media Business; he will continue to contribute towards the industry at large,” he added.

Maximising value for advertisers

Under these new changes, Sehgal will be working closely with Goenka towards the goal of maximising value for advertisers. Given that the MD & CEO will be directly collaborating with the revenue teams, all other employees reporting to Johri will now report to Punit Goenka’s office.

In its statement, the firm said that its management, led by Goenka, remains committed to taking necessary actions to improve overall performance, particularly in the best interest of its esteemed shareholders. The MD & CEO will persist in implementing measures to decrease costs, optimise resources, and refine the organisation’s focus toward achieving higher levels of quality.
