Walt Disney Company in India, the erstwhile Star India’s revenue from operation rose 3.19% to Rs 17332.78 crore in FY23 from Rs 16,778.94 crore in FY22. The company’s net profit narrowed 12.77% to Rs 1999.73 crore FY23 from Rs 2292.51 crore, during the same period in the corresponding year, according to regulatory filings fetched by business intelligence platform Tofler.

Advertisement revenue declined 7.64% to Rs 9,339.12 crore in FY23 from Rs 10112.15 in FY22 while subscription revenue increased marginally by 3.25% to Rs 4,949.52 crore from Rs 4788.19 crore in FY22. Licensing of content rights rose 35.29% to Rs 2,863.80 crore in FY23 from Rs 1852.96 in FY22 while theatrical distribution of films rose by 85.78% to Rs 180.34 crore from Rs 25.64 crore in FY22.

Operating expenses rose by 15.43% to Rs 12,480.08 crore in FY23 from Rs 10,810.91 crore while other expenses rose by 11.86% to Rs 1820.65 crore in FY23 from Rs 1,604.55 crore in FY22.
