Spolto, an Indo-Swedish SportsTech startup founded in 2021 by Safa Soltani, with Divesh Nathani as Partner & COO, has raised $1 million (INR 9 crore) in total funding. The latest round brought in USD 160K (Rs 1.35 crore), led by Andrew Johnston, Co-founder and CEO of LetsShare, a Sweden-based venture.

Johnston emphasised the opportunities in India’s sports and technology sectors, stating his support for Spolto’s vision. This round also attracted investments from sports enthusiasts and investors from both India and Sweden.

Spolto has partnered with over 1,200 coaches and academies across 12 sports in Maharashtra, offering access to various sports including tennis, swimming, badminton, and gymnastics. With this funding, Spolto aims to scale its services to reach more urban communities and support grassroots sports development in India.

“At Spolto, we’re committed to expanding access to sports in urban India, helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds discover the joy and benefits of sports. This funding will enable us to grow our platform and empower more people to embrace an active lifestyle,” Safa Soltani, founder and CEO of Spolto and Divesh Nathani, COO of Spolto, said.

Spolto is also planning to enhance its digital presence to meet the needs of the modern Indian consumer. With a focus on accessibility and convenience, the company aims to establish itself as the primary platform for sports skill development in India’s urban centres.
