KGeN, a gaming platform, announced a partnership with Riot Games for the launch of LIFT//OFF, an online training academy to forge the next set of professional Valorant athletes. From what is understood, this program sets a new standard by strategically selecting gaming content creators as ‘creators’ and seasoned competitive gamers as ‘trainers’.
According to the company, they will select 20 creators from a pool of applicants, these creators will then form their teams from within their communities. Each creator will either select 5 players for their team or play alongside 4 players, forming a total of 60 to 80 players. Additionally, 20 trainers will be selected, with each assigned to one of the 20 creator-led teams.
It is believed that LIFT//OFF will open applications for Creators, Trainers, and Recruits on 18 September, with the deadline for applications set for 10 October. From 4 to 26 November, participants can engage in weekly and daily in-game challenges, with rewards available based on leaderboard performance. The event will culminate in a finale from 30 November to third December, featuring a final tournament to evaluate the learnings of the Recruits and the effectiveness of the Trainers.
