Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Ramesh Jude Thomas, founder and CEO, EQUiTOR Value Advisory, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
I enjoy picking up a new song on the acoustic guitar, preferably from the 70s. Music has a way of telling stories that stand the test of time, much like great ideas and innovations.
How do you spend your weekends?
Weekends are for catching up on movies, books, and friends. I also take time to reflect and privately share insights that offer a fresh perspective. A group of 30-odd people expect my WhatsApp synopsis of Sunday reflections from church, which has become a weekly tradition.
What are your favourite gadgets?
The Remarkable tablet—it’s a brilliant tool that allows me to write in longhand, store ideas, and refer back to them whenever needed. Besides everything, it helps me distil my thoughts into structured insights that create long-term value.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
A development economist. Understanding the macro forces that shape economies is crucial in building sustainable growth and meaningful impact. In many ways, this aligns with my current career choice of helping business recognise the full potential of their intangible assets.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
The Canadian Rockies. The Lord above was in a great mood when He designed it. It’s a testament to the idea that true value isn’t always in what’s immediately visible—it’s in-depth, the history, and the experience.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching?
The New Look on Apple TV—a fresh take on the personalities behind fashion’s greatest transformations. Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis at his best), brilliantly captures how vision and leadership can shape a nation. A standout ad campaign doesn’t immediately come to mind, but the best ones, like a well-positioned brand, don’t just sell—they inspire and create lasting value.
