Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs a breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Arpit Bansal, Director and CEO, La Wisteria, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
Whenever I find time away from the hustle of work, I gravitate towards travelling and outdoor sports with my kids. Travel, for me, is not just about leisure—it’s about discovering new cultures, experiencing different lifestyles, and broadening my perspective. Playing sports with my children, on the other hand, keeps me grounded. It’s my way of staying active while also building memories with them, something that is priceless.
How do you spend your weekends?
Being part of the real estate industry, weekends are usually packed with client interactions, site visits, and meetings. While others may wind down, for us it’s often the busiest time of the week. Mondays, however, tend to be lighter, and I consciously make it a point to spend those moments with my family. I also dedicate time to reading, researching, and keeping myself updated with the latest industry trends. Real estate is a dynamic sector, and I believe continuous learning is critical to staying ahead.
What are your favourite gadgets?
I wouldn’t call myself particularly tech-savvy. I prefer keeping it simple with just my iPhone and AirPods, especially when I’m travelling. They are indispensable tools—whether it’s staying connected on the go, catching up on calls, or unwinding with some music. I value functionality over collecting the latest gadgets.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I weren’t in real estate, I would most likely be a travel blogger. The idea of exploring different countries, immersing myself in diverse cuisines and cultures, and then sharing those experiences with the world excites me. It would blend my love for travel with the joy of storytelling—an ideal combination in many ways.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
I find immense joy in exploring Europe’s countryside and quaint little villages. There is something deeply fulfilling about being surrounded by nature, away from the crowds, where time seems to slow down. The simplicity and serenity of such places resonate with me, and they offer the kind of rejuvenation that bustling cities seldom can.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign that you highly recommend watching.
As a teenager, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Friends. Its timeless humour and warmth still make it one of my favourites. In cinema, my picks are Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge from Bollywood—an iconic film that beautifully captures love and tradition—and The Godfather in Hollywood, a classic that epitomises powerful storytelling. Both are films I can revisit multiple times and still find something new to appreciate.
