Blinkit has introduced an ambulance service in Gurugram, with the first five vehicles now operational. The new initiative, announced by CEO Albinder Dhindsa in a LinkedIn post, aims to provide quick and reliable ambulance services through the Blinkit app.

The service will initially offer Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, equipped with essential life-saving equipment such as oxygen cylinders, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), stretchers, and emergency medications. Each ambulance will be staffed with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure timely and efficient medical care during emergencies.

Blinkit emphasises that the service is designed to be affordable, with the goal of addressing the critical need for dependable ambulance services in urban areas. The company has stated that it does not view this as a profit-driven venture, but rather as a long-term commitment to improving emergency medical response.

The company plans to gradually expand the service, aiming to cover major cities across India within the next two years. By offering ambulance bookings via the Blinkit app, the company seeks to enhance accessibility and reduce delays in emergency healthcare response in growing urban centres.
