Ahead of its flagship Great Indian Festival, set to begin this Friday, e-commerce giant Amazon has increased its standard commission income rates for over 50,000 content creators associated with its influencer programme, it said on Friday.

The new commission structure offers an increase between 1.5-2x across more than 20 sub-categories including fashion, beauty and personal care appliances, home, kitchen, toys and books for active creators working with Amazon. Among these, some categories have larger hikes than others.

For example, commission for key categories such as apparel, accessories, beauty and personal care appliances is increased by up to 12%, while that for home, kitchen, lawn and garden, furniture, and sports categories it is hiked by up to 10% and for toys and books the same is increased by up to 9%.

Besides these, creators will also receive target-linked incentives of up to 10-15% of revenue generated and product budgets of up to `5,000 to allow them to purchase and review products.

“This empowers creators to earn more during the peak shopping season and capitalise on the increased consumer demand during AGIF,” the company said in a statement. As a part of the Amazon Live programme, hundreds of creators will run over 1,500 live streams across categories for the upcoming sale.

Amazon will offer its Prime members access to the sale 24 hours before the official start. Not just Amazon, rival Flipkart is also preparing to host its flagship annual sale Big Billion Days on Friday and so are Meesho and Myntra.
