Founder and Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, finalised a 49% stake in the London-based cricket team, Oval Invincibles. Set to be rebranded as Mumbai Indians London (MI London) in January 2026, it competes in the English Cricket tournament – The Hundred. While the Surrey Country Cricket Club retains a majority stake, the deal was estimated at around £60.3 million ($80 million or nearly Rs 645 crore). Mukesh Ambani, also listed among the richest Asians, acquired both the men’s and women’s teams, expanding his ‘MI Family’ after their decades-long feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sundar Pichai-Satya Nadella
A consortium of tech CEOs, a rather rare occurrence, including Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayen, and Nikesh Arora, came together for a significant stake during an auction. This group purchased a 49% stake in London Spirit for £144 million, one of the year’s biggest sports league equity cheques.
