The creator economy contributes 2.5% to India’s GDP and employs 8% of the workforce, according to Classplus Creator Trends Report 2024. Currently valued at $4.58 billion, the sector is projected to grow tenfold by 2030. Furthermore, it also revealed that over 92% of content creators are now leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency, with productivity doubling as a result. Tools like AI Convert have recorded a revenue increase of 235% from the previous year, the report added.
Monetisation strategies are evolving, with creators diversifying beyond brand sponsorships into areas like digital products, courses, and templates. Regional content creators are also on the rise, with 80% of audiences for these segments coming from Tier 2 and smaller cities.
The rising influence of creators is also evident in the shift toward educational content, with 62% of audiences preferring informative creators over entertainment-focused ones. The regional content surge has been amplified by the popularity of OTT platforms, allowing creators from smaller towns to engage audiences in their native languages.
