The government of India has invited applications for the post of the deputy governor at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) by November 30. A press release issued on Monday said the tenure for the post will be three years and the candidate will be eligible for reappointment.
Candidates having at least 25 years of work experience in public administration, including experience at the level of secretary or equivalent in the central government, or persons with at least 25 years of work experience in an Indian or international public financial institutions, will be eligible for the post.
Persons of exceptional merit and track record at the national or international level in the relevant field (s) are also eligible, the release said. The candidate applying for the post of deputy governor of the RBI should not be 60 years of age as on January 15, 2025.
The post carries a pay scale of Rs 225,000, the release said.
Michael Debabrata Patra’s second term as the RBI deputy governor will end in January 2025. He had completed his initial three-year term from January 2020 to January 2023.
