IndiGo flight status today: After cancelling over 170 flights on Monday, followed by nearly 60 cancellations the next day and over 50 yesterday, IndiGo has cancelled over 40 flights today. Most of today’s cancellations involve flights scheduled to depart from Chandigarh, followed by Patna, Delhi, and Varanasi.
IndiGo, in its travel advisory on X (formerly Twitter), said that low visibility and dense fog over Chandigarh skies have disrupted flight operations. As a precautionary measure, the airline has cancelled some flights throughout the day.
“Low visibility and fog over Chandigarh have impacted flight schedules. We’re keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly,” IndiGo said in one of its travel advisories.
In another update, it added, “As a precaution, some flights have been cancelled through the day to prioritise safety and help minimise extended waiting at the airport.”
IndiGo further advised passengers to expect delays while travelling to the airport and to take extra time to avoid missing their flights.
“We also encourage you to check your latest flight status on our website or app before heading to the airport,” IndiGo further said, before adding, “Be assured, our teams are here to assist you at every step and ensure support.”
According to a report by ANI, airport authorities said that 22 flight cancellations have been reported from Delhi so far, including 11 departures and 11 arrivals.

Near-zero visibility in Chandigarh
India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that very dense fog has blanketed Chandigarh airport, resulting in near-zero visibility. Similar conditions have also been reported at airports in Hindon, Agra, Kanpur and Gorakhpur.
Earlier, in its weather alert, it said that dense to very dense fog is expected in several parts of India. This, in turn, will reduce visibility and disrupt travel by road, air and railways.
“As we step into the early hours of December 18th, dense to very dense fog is expected across parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand. Similar foggy patches may also appear in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Odisha,” the met department said a few hours ago.
It added, “Impact: Visibility will be low, which may disrupt road, rail, and air travel,” before sharing tips to stay safe.
“Drive slowly and keep fog lights on. Avoid unnecessary travel during peak fog hours. Stay updated with IMD advisories and plan your day accordingly,” the met department stated.
