An Air India flight en route to Singapore from Chennai was forced to return to the city on Friday after pilots detected a mid-air technical snag, airport officials confirmed. The pilots promptly communicated with the airport, deciding to turn back.
The flight, carrying approximately 170 passengers, landed safely back in Chennai. Engineers are currently addressing the technical issue, and the flight is expected to resume its journey once the problem is resolved. The airline has yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, more than 100 flights were delayed at Delhi airport on Friday morning due to dense fog, which severely impacted visibility and disrupted operations. IndiGo, in a post on X at 5:04 am, advised passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
According to airport operator DIAL’s update on X at 5:52 am, the dense fog had affected flight departures, but aircraft that were CAT III compliant were still able to land and depart. CAT III compliance enables flight operations in low-visibility conditions. Flight tracking website Flightradar.com reported that over 180 flights were delayed at the airport.
