Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport on Thursday (November 28) announced the launch of flight services to five new destinations starting in 2025.
According to airport officials, IndiGo will operate flights to Indore four days a week and to Dehradun three days a week, with both routes set to begin on January 1, 2025. The scheduled departure time for these flights from Bhubaneswar will be 3 PM.
Additionally, Air India Express will introduce three weekly flights from Bhubaneswar to Lucknow and Jaipur, starting January 3, 2025, along with daily flights to Cochin. The official also mentioned that a new route to Bengaluru will commence from January 4, 2025.
Air India Express crosses 50 destination mark
Meanwhile, Air India Express will launch new flights to Bangkok from Surat and Patna starting December 20, 2024, marking Thailand’s capital as its 15th international destination. The airline will also begin services to Dimapur (Nagaland) and Patna (Bihar), expanding its domestic network.
With these additions, the carrier will connect 51 cities across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The expansion follows the merger of AIX Connect and aligns with Air India Express’s strategy to link non-metro cities to international destinations and promote tourism and economic growth. The airline currently operates a fleet of 90 aircraft and more than 400 flights daily.
