IndiGo, India’s largest airline, on Thursday said that Isidro Porqueras will replace Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as its chief operating officer (COO) from November 1, subject to regulatory approvals.

Prock-Schauer, who has been leading the operations at the airline since 2018, will be retiring later this year.

Porqueras has more than 25 years of experience leading high-performance teams in competitive environments in different areas such as operations, commercial, strategy and finance, said a note from the carrier.

Porqueras joined IndiGo in April, 2024 as chief of transformation and has been engaged in several operations’ related projects over the past months.

Before joining IndiGo, Porqueras was the COO at Volotea, one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe, and prior to that, he worked for companies such as McKinsey and Uralita.
