Rahul Bhatia-led diversified InterGlobe Enterprises has partnered with technology veteran C P Gurnani’s Assago to launch an artificial intelligence business venture AIonONS that will provide various solutions as well as look to partner with startups.
InterGlobe has a significant presence in the travel, transportation, logistics, and hospitality (TTLH) segment, and the country’s largest airline IndiGo is part of the group.
Headquartered in Singapore, the JV will provide software as a service (SaaS) solutions to enterprises for automating their decision making processes using AI, enhance customer experiences, streamline processes, thereby reducing costs and maximising productivity.
While Gurnani will run AIonOS as executive vice chairman, InterGlobe is a majority stakeholder in the company. The company has in total about 150 employees at the moment. Initially, it will tap enterprises in the travel, transportation, logistics, and hospitality sector, given IndiGo’s expertise in these segments.
The first set of use cases include unlocking higher revenue through smarter pricing and delivering superior customer experience,” Gurnani said. “Our approach to AI combines sophisticated technology with the nuances of human interaction in every solution we deliver,” he added.
“InterGlobe has always been at the forefront of innovation and development. AIonOS is expected to address the needs of airlines in general, and in that journey if IndiGo finds the need to use AIonOS’ offerings, we will use it,” said Rahul Bhatia, group managing director of InterGlobe.
Currently, the company is engaged with enterprises for its offerings on a proof of concept basis. The plan is to onboard enterprises onto AIonOS’ IntelliOS platform, which brings AI into every decision-making process with data integration and delivers business benefits.
Through its AI solutions, the enterprises can use existing data sources to address information gaps.
For example, if there is a disruption at the Florida airport due to a hurricane or at Chicago airport due to snowstorm, that day everything goes into panic mode, Gurnani explained. According to him, there’s panic with regard to aircraft availability, crew management, about food, and rebooking of customers. “Not enough systems are there which talk to each other and address common questions customers have. We can have a better system which can analyse past data and give predictions using AI,” Gurnani said.
AIonOS will have global business presence, including in North America, India, the Middle East, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
