IndiGo Airlines has unveiled a thoughtful new feature aimed at enhancing the travel experience for their female passengers. Women flying with IndiGo can now see which seats have been pre-booked by other female travelers during the web check-in process. There is no doubt that this initiative empowers women to choose their seats with more confidence and comfort for their safety purposes.

IndiGo announced this feature on Wednesday following extensive market research, to make air travel more pleasant and secure for their female customers. This innovative step reflects IndiGo’s commitment to catering to the unique needs of all its passengers.

Indigo in a statement said that this new feature aligns with their ‘Girl Power ethos’ but is currently in pilot mode.

“We are committed to providing an unparalleled travel experience for all our passengers, and this new feature is just one of the many steps we are taking towards achieving that goal,” IndiGo said in the statement.

How will Indigo’s new feature work?

This innovative feature is specially designed for Passenger Name Records (PNR) involving female travelers, whether they are flying solo or with family.

This decision follows several viral incidents involving women over the past few months. Last year, a shocking event occurred on an Air India flight when a male passenger urinated on female passengers. The offender faced legal action afterward.
