Due to a technical problem, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Doha was delayed by 17 hours 31 minutes on Sunday, leaving passengers to wait inside the aircraft for over four hours. The flight, which was originally scheduled to depart from Mumbai at 3:55 AM for the capital of Qatar, left Mumbai airport at 9:27 PM. The flight then reached Doha at 10:31 PM, while the original time was 5:00 AM.
A few travellers vented about the lengthy wait and the delay on social media. On Sunday morning, a passenger on X, said the flight was stuck for four hours due to a technical problem and that the immigration authority was not giving permission to offload the passengers.
Another passenger wrote on X “@RamMNK @IndiGo6E kindly help passengers of flight 6E1303 scheduled to take off at 3:55 AM from mumbai. All passengers are still stuck at Mumbai Airport only and indigo has no solution to it. Passengers have further flights to different destinations. Kindly look into this asap.”
Flying from Mumbai to Doha, IndiGo’s flight 6E 1303 was delayed in the morning for a technical issue, the airline claimed. “The aircraft tried to depart for its destination a couple of times but had to finally be called off due to the extended time lag on account of various procedural delays,” the airline said in a statement.
IndiGo expressed regret for the inconvenience and claimed that its airport staff had helped the impacted guests right away, providing refreshments and making the required arrangements. As per the airline’s statement, travellers were given rooms and their reservations were adjusted based on their ultimate destination.
