Indigo announced on Wednesday that it plans to challenge two penalty orders totaling Rs 3,50,299 regarding input tax credit claims.
Odisha Penalty details
In Odisha, a penalty of Rs 1,77,046 was levied on Indigo related to Goods and Services Tax (GST). The appellate authority has rejected the airline’s plea, upholding the demand related to the input tax credit for the fiscal year 2017-18. According to Indigo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation regulatory filing, they are planning to contest this decision in front of an appellate tribunal.
Kerala Penalty case
On the other hand, Indigo is also contesting another penalty case of Rs 1,73,253 in Kerala. The input tax credit claimed by the company has been rejected by the tax officer who issued a demand for the payment. The airline has appealed this order to the concerned appellate authority.
