A fire broke out in one of the engines of an inbound international cargo flight from Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, but no injuries were reported as the blaze was extinguished after the aircraft landed in Chennai, news agency PTI reported citing official sources.

The flight had arrived from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The incident occurred in the aircraft’s fourth engine during landing, prompting the pilots to alert airport authorities. Although no emergency landing was required, the pilots brought the plane down safely, sources added.

Fire tenders, which were on standby, quickly doused the flames after touchdown. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
