Over 70 flights from various Indian airlines received bomb threats on Thursday, sources have revealed. Among them, approximately 20 flights each from Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo were targeted, while Akasa
Air faced threats for around 14 flights. In the past 11 days, nearly 250 flights operated by Indian carriers have been subjected to bomb threats.
A spokesperson for Akasa Air stated that several of its flights scheduled for October 24 received security alerts.
“The Akasa Air Emergency Response teams are monitoring the situation and are in touch with the security and regulatory authorities. We are following all safety and security procedures in coordination with local authorities,” the spokesperson added.
Earlier this week, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced that the government is planning legislative measures to address bomb threats against airlines, including adding those responsible for such threats to the no-fly list.
